Living in China & Visa Information
Living in China
China is fascinating – with huge, frantic cities to beautiful, untouched rural landscapes, there is just so much to explore. Relocating to any foreign country, however, is not without its challenges and China has a very different culture compared to the western world. This must be appreciated, and seen as an exciting learning opportunity, by anyone considering relocating here.
Support before you start
We will guide you through the visa process and entry into China and ask you to attend an induction weekend before school starts. This allows you to meet all key staff from Dipont and new staff from all centres. The induction will provide information about the company, Chinese culture, as well as the academic and professional requirements of your role. A separate new staff orientation is provided in each centre in terms of information about the city, the school and the centre. Our support staff organise your accommodation and assist you in all other matters required to establish yourself. Further specific guidance on what to bring with you, and what to prepare for, is also available.
Support in post
You are assisted with daily life issues and provided with administrative support by a centre co-ordinator and supported in all ways by your line manager. Leadership staff and subject teachers alike have a network of counterparts across the centres and share ideas, resources and experience. Our senior management team travel around the centres on a regular basis to provide further support and direction.
Visa Information
The Centre you are appointed to will be responsible for assisting you in applying for the working visa. Our English speaking Centre Co-ordinators are extremely experienced and will be on hand to offer advice and assistance throughout the process. Dependent on the country that the new teacher is applying for the Z visa from, a medical examination may be required for the application at his/her home country as well as in China.
